Born out of the desire to contribute to local youth, XDS began construction in the Fall of 2015. It was a family project overseen by Mrs.Strickland’s father (Grampy). The long hours that he put in to bring this vision to life has impacted many dancer’s lives and for that we can not thank him enough! We opened our doors in 2016, starting with 11 local friends. We have since grown and become an award winning studio who competes all over Alberta! We value work ethic and commitment. Our goals at XDS are to foster team bonding, a sense of community and family, and to help dancers achieve goals.

Xpressions studio has become a place our children can call home, where the emphasis is put on building a positive team environment, supporting our dancers growth not just in technique, but developing into kind, strong individuals as well as team members.
We are lucky to have alumni that continue to show up, in studio as well as at competitions to help and support our students, instructors and, yes, even parents.
The studio owners, instructors, students and parents work to keep a strong family feeling, we try and bring an air of excitement, kindness, and love to every competition we attend.
Our dancers and studio are generally among the highest scoring, receiving awards, scholarships, trophies and standouts, but, the most important thing remains our dancers feeling confident, loved, supported and showing kindness everywhere we go.

We recently started at Xpressions after attending another studio. We were welcomed instantly, and the kids treated my daughter like she’s been there forever and not as a new kid. The teachers have been so loving and encouraging; My daughter’s technique improvement has been incredible…. But more importantly her confidence has grown so much . The teachers are a great support system and are the first to cheer every kid on. When my kid nails a move at home it’s always followed with “you have to show Miss Clarissa!” or “Can you send to Miss Raquel and show her I did it!” This has not been just a dance studio but has quickly become second family to my daughter and makes me feel confident I made the right choice.
